Is there a way to ingest data from a kafka topic as a connected system in ataccama?

if you are asking about Ataccama One DQG (Catalog), there is no native connector, but you can try to create a VCI (Virtual Catalog Item) that will be connecting to Kafka. The kafka server has to be defined in the Global Runtime Configuration.
