In Ataccama One web we can download Canada.lkp but on Ataccama Desktop we could not find this file (searched on drive C: as well).
Where are these lookup tables stored?
How to get a complete list of all of them?
Thanks!

Hi JohnY,
If you download the .lkp files from the web application by clicking on the filename, they will be placed in your usual downloads folder. They can be copied from there into your ONE Desktop workspace, either through the file system, or directly into the folders in the ONE Desktop.
It is also possible to browse lookup files directly on the web application from the ONE Desktop, using the ONE Explorer pane in the ONE Perspective view, as per the attached image. They can be dragged from here into a plan or component, to either perform a lookup, or to extract the data via a lookup reader step.
I hope that helps,
Brian.
Hi Brian,
Thank you for your detailed response!
Forgot to mention, we are using Ataccama v14.5.3 and our GUI differs from your screenshot. However I am able to create a DQ plan to get the list of lookup tables.
My new question is, how can I show the contents of a given lookup table?
Thanks!
John
Hi John,
14.5.3 can have this view as well. It is in the ONE Perspective, which enables you to browse metadata and explore assets on the server. To access it, click the Ataccama logo in the top right of your desktop:
Lkp files are not human readable in normal text file viewers as they are indexed and optimised for Ataccama, but you can view the files by opening them in the desktop itself.
They are ‘physically’ stored in the Ataccama back end bucket system, MinIO, but that is not generally directly accessible to users.
Thanks,
Brian.
Hi Brian,
Thank you for your reply!
DO these lookup files (e.g. canada.lkp) need to be refreshed by Ataccama customers?
Thanks!
Hi John,
The files that come with Ataccama DQ&C are there as examples of what is possible. They can be used as-is if they meet requirements, or they can be used as a basis to create your own versions of lookup files if you so wish.
The expectation is that you’ll generally create your own if you need something more than what is available out of the box, either from a column in a Catalog Item, or by using the Lookup Builder step in the ONE Desktop, and uploading them to the web application.
Further documentation is here: https://docs.ataccama.com/one/latest/data-quality/lookup-items.html
And you can access the more technical ONE Desktop documentation on this by clicking the circled ? icon in the bottom left of the Lookup Builder step.
Thanks,
Brian.
