Preventive Data Controls using Ataccama

Hi Everyone,

We are in the process of transitioning to Ataccama as our DQ solution. In our current setup, we perform various data controls such as:

  1. Empty File Check
  2. Duplicate File Check
  3. Header or Trailer Validation (e.g., validating trailer record count or checksum)

We are keen to understand if these types of data controls can also be implemented using Ataccama. Our goal is to consolidate all data quality processes into a single tool for better efficiency and management.

Thank you!

Hello @boopeshm,

Yes, all of these data controls you mentioned can be implemented using Ataccama either on the ONE webapp or ONE Desktop tool where you can develop scheduled or orchestrated workflows for the process.

On the ONE Webapp, you can develop Aggregation Rules which can help you check after doing some aggregation, for example record count. This can be utilized to achieve the above data controls, i.e. record_count = 0, primary_key is unique, and so on.

Same can be done on ONE Desktop by developing Plans which can perform much more complex operations and transformations and include it in a Workflow. If you cannot access these documentation links yet, you can see this YouTube video.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions, please let us know in the comments below!
