Hello Community:

Iam on version 14.5.1 and I would like to create a custom term type - in addition to the three types that are available out of box such as Business Terms, Key Performance Indicator and Security Terms. If a new type is NOT possible, i would like to rename one of them to meet my needs.

Can someone throw some details on how to do that?

Hi @Prasad Rani,

That is possible as follows. Via Global Settings in section Maintenance Center you will find the Metadata Model. Via the button at the top you have the option to create a new entity. First enter a name for the new entity. Then, by selecting term in the Extends field you create a new term type. So like this.

Now entity newTermType will inherit all properties of term and you can add the properties that make this new term type specific.

Kind regards,

Albert

thank you Albert. After I posted in the community, I read through documentation and other articles and figured out this solution that you just described in creating new entity. I already implemented in production and looks good.

thanks for your response. Truly appreciate it.
