Hi,

I’ve noticed an issue within RDM when attempting to update a foreign key values for multiple rows using RDM’s Multi edit functionality.

If I attempt to enter a value the “Apply” button never enables and the usual selection list fails to appear

If I click on the search magnifying glass

the Lookup window fails to list any values to select from

The work around is to add anther non-key field to the multi-edit.. enter a value within it, then enter a new foreign key value and then delete the added non-key field before clicking Save to perform the update.

Non-key field added

Foreign Key field is now updatable
Now delete the non-key field.. it works!!

Hey Baz!
Thanks for the report. What you found sounds like a bug. We’re trying to replicate it and get back to you. It doesn’t seem to be a defect in the RDM v13.x. So we’ll try 12.6 - is this your version of RDM?

Hi Diana,

I found the problem in version 12.6.2 of RDM. Thanks for taking a look at my query.

Hi Baz,
We’ve tested 12.6 (not 12.6.2 specifically) + some other releases (12.9, 13.5) for this defect. I am afraid we are not able to replicate it and that’s very odd.
Any plans for an upgrade soon? I think it’s the only way to get rid of the problem, unfortunately.
I’ve informed my colleagues who are aware of your installation and project.
Have a great day,
Diana
