Adding New Property to Catalog Item in MMM Model

METADATA MODEL 

The metadata model is used to configure the application entities and their properties. The Metadata Model describes the entities and their properties in the application.  Web Application) use the Metadata Model to create the frontend user interface. The metadata model is also responsible for the configuration of the left navigation menu of the application.

 

ONE METADATA PROPERTY REFERENCES

Entities consist of properties of Simple types, such as strings and integers, and Object types, which link the entity to other entities.

 

ADDING NEW PROPERTY TO THE MMM MODEL

  1. Go to left panel of the Webapp and choose Global settings

     

  1. Choose metadata model under Maintenance Center
  1. Choose the Custom filed where you need to add the new property to CatalogItem, Glossary and sources. In our case we adding to CatalogItem

     

  1. Click on the Custom field CatalogItem. We can see General Information and Property. Click add property and type in the property to be added.

     

  1. Fill in the name and choose the type for the property and hit the save button.

     

 

  1. Hit save and hover back to Metadata model under maintenance center and click apply changes. Application will be switched to maintenance mode.

     

  1. Hit Run changes, application will ask for DB backup, confirm and continue

 

 

  1. Hit Run changes again
  1. After the changes applied the Application will switch back to Maintenance mode off
  1. Hover over Catalog item and check for the added property in the catalog item. Similarly add for the Glossary and Sources
