Is there any way that we restrict accessing the data that are imported to Ataccama Thin client ?, as we do role based access , we are able to see all others catalogue items imported into Thin Client.

Such catalogue item view breach the data classification compliance which is managed in main data factory where we store the data.

Anyone suggest here your thoughts to how restrict the data by giving right access / restriction while we importing the catalogue item or any measure we can take to restrict in viewing the catalogue items within Thin client w.r.t catalogue item import owner?

Hi @Thangaraj

Ataccama ONE provides a lot of flexibility in configuring permissions, so granular control over access to catalog items is definitely possible. Which version of the platform are you using? The exact steps to configure role-based access will depend on your current version:

  • for v.13.x please see here
  • for v.14.x you may find the info here

From your description it sounds like users (or some roles assigned to these users) may have been shared on (granted access to) the entire source and its children. If that's the case and the users’ access to child CIs is inherited from the source, then there's a couple of options:

  • unassign these users from the role that has access to the source and its catalog items.
  • demote the role's level of access, e.g. unshare the source from the role.

If you need a bit more guidance, it would help to see some screenshots, such as the list of roles assigned to the user who seems to have unexpected level of access, and the list of roles/users shared on the source. As we're on a public forum, please make sure not to expose sensitive data on the screenshots.

Keep us posted
