Improving performance with Oracle; parallel options

(Bill S.) #1

I’m wondering if there is a way to take advantage of parallelism available in oracle. In sql, I would usually add a parallel hint to my query.

While scanning other posting and saw the recommendation on increasing memory under the launch preferences. I also saw an option for parallel threads there. I’m assuming those are parallel threads on the client not the database.

Thanks

Hello Bill,

Parallelism level could be set in runtime configuration either for a specific plan or directly in the runtimeConfig file. It defines number of thread per each filter. It is only referring to filters that can be run in parallel, in complex steps, it is ignored and they run in unmodifiable single step configuration. Please refer to the following documentation about setting up parallelism level in runtime configuration.
