Data profiling - set attribute type

Hi, I’ve just started data profiling with Ataccama One so please bear with me.I have data with technical IDs (e.g. “000123456”, “009876543”,...) in a csv that I imported. The IDs are however interpreted as a number.How exactly can I change the attribute type to text? I have done so when importing the file: but it seems to go to numbers nonetheless.The original file has comma-separated values that are all between double quotes. Thanks for any help! edit: typo

Why Pie charts are evil?

Data Stories provides a wide range of charts, it includes also Pie and Donut ones, even though I do not recommend using them, and the same applies to a Gauge chart. Let's look at the reasoning why and why I'd recommend using a (stacked) bar chart instead.Space usageIn data visualization (reporting, data storytelling) you have limited space you can use. Your task is to fill the limited space with the most value for the end viewer/user. Note, most value does not necessarily mean most charts, sometimes one curated chart is far better than five. The problem with Pie, Donut and Gauge charts is that they use more space in comparison to an alternative that provides the same value - a bar chart. Sales distribution on a Pie ChartMore space is used due to 2 reasons:Pie and Donut charts use Area to give value to a single category. Bar chars use just distance. Append, merge or overwrite data of an existing datasetUnder Consideration

When I upload a dataset via file upload, I'd like to:append additional files/rows via file upload (i.e. my system generates data daily but does not generate the full history - "delta" updates) keep the same schema but truncate and reupload the dataset (i.e. daily view/latest dataset) keep the same schema but fix some entries by uploading a "diff" that would get merged into an existing dataset

Bucketing and extracting dates

Every date & time column supports extraction and bucketing transformation.Bucketing adjusts or "rounds" the date to the chosen granularity (hour, day, week, month, quarter, year). Let's look at a few examples, consider entry `2021/01/10 10:00:00`, choosinghour yields `2021/01/10 10:00:00` (no change) day yields `2021/01/10` (hours, minutes and seconds get truncated) week yields `2021/01/04` (Monday of the same week) quarter yields `2021/01/01` (beginning of Q1 2021) year yields `2021/01/01` (first day of the year)Extracting selects a desired part of the date and discards the rest. Again, using `2021/01/10 10:00:00` we can see how the common options transform the date to a single number:hour yields `10` (0-24) day of the week yields `7` (= Sunday, range from 1-7) day of the month yields `10` (1-31) day of the year yields `10` (1-365) week yields `1` (1-53) quarter yields `1` (1-4) year yields `2021`it's also useful to define custom aliases for these values as needed. In some cases you might need to insert slide from PowerPoint or Google Slides to your story. This is quite easy to use service such as https://imgur.com where you can easily paste screenshot of your presentation slide or application, and get URL such as https://i.imgur.com/6zqTWb1.jpegThen place the "Hero Image" widget in a new section within your story, paste the URL and you’re all set!

Using emojis

To bring up the emoji and symbols picker press:Command + Control + Space [macOS] Windows (key) + . (dot) [Windows]then click on the desired emoji and it will appear in the text field.Note that the inserted emojis might look differently from the picker as we use Twemoji to achieve a consistent look across all operating systems.

How do I format text and heading sections?

It's currently not possible to change the alignment of the heading and text sections, nor the relative height of the text or the width of the section at the moment. Avoid using long text sections, instead structure the story with multiple headings and make use of the fact & notification overlays. Also consider using emojis in top-level headings or titles.

The widget is showing only a small subset of the dataset

Default number of values to show might be too low for your selected widget configuration.Go to Data subsection of the right panel to adjust the limits. Additionally, it's also useful to check out the retrieved data in the Data subsection (located under the the Data preview button) and make sure (Global) Filters are correctly set.
