Show some working progress whilst engine is running
Hi, just as an idea: Whilst the engine is working in the state: " Running runtime" it would be nice to see as a user something like a "progress bar", fancy "sandclock" or a more modern version to see that the engine is still running.

Matthias,
Hello. I am responsible for the usability of DQ Analyzer.
I like your idea and I will add it to my list of usability problems to fix. I agree that this can be cause people to wonder whether it is still running or whether something is wrong.
I will post an update once we have added it to our schedule and will then change the status to 'Planned'. Thank you for the suggestion.

Hello. I m profiling above 40 milion records and info in console window "Running runtime.." it's not enough even i have to wait more then 3 hours. If it is posible , the percentage of processed rows will be more comfortable.

1DQ Analyzer is in fact a subset of functionality of Data Quality Center. You can use some functionality of DQC also here. When profiling large data sets, there is useful functionality of Monitoring view.
To open the view, go to the menu: Window/Show View/Other...

Then select Monitoring view

This will open Monitoring view, when you can see the progress of the profiling step execution.

I’m
happy
Hi Matthias and Marek,
thank you for the ideas. In the EA 6 build, we have added an experimental feature that prints the current status of the computation to the Console view every five seconds - so that you can see how is the profiling job doing. We would love to hear your feedback on that functionality.

No sign of progress while profiling. I would like to know how many percent of given data set is already profiled and the elapsed time, so it is possible to estimate the total/remaining time. I never knew whether it's worth waiting another minute for the result.
