Profile Teradata table doesn't work
I was trying to profile table in teradata database. I can see records in my table in SQL editor, connection to DB is successful. But then I choose create profile command in the File Explorer or choose the create profile from menu and choose table in DB nothing happens, just hourglass blinks for a millisecond in second case.

Hello,
could you, please, send us an exception from the error log of the DQ Analyzer?
You can show the Error log by going to Window / Show view / Other and find the Error log view there. It will add a tab next to the Console and Properties view at the bottom of the screen. There you should be able to find a message. Send it in a comment here or directly to support@ataccama.com.
By the way what version of Teradata server do you have? -

The error is :
teradata.jdbc.jdbc_4.util.JDBCException: [Teradata Database] [TeraJDBC 13.00.00.18] [Error 3523] [SQLState 42000] The user does not have SELECT access to DBC.UDTInfo. -

I see, you do not have permission to UDTInfo from where the driver gets the table columns. The SQL Viewer gets the column names from the result set of the query, so we might be able to fix it in the next release.
You can fix it on your side if you can grant yourself at least the select permission to DBC.UDTInfo, I don't know better solution then this or waiting for our fix. -

Hello Swetha,
Can you please try what happens in http://files.ataccama.com.s3.amazonaws.com/downloads/DQAnalyzer/dqanalyzer-7.0.4.qa2-2011-12-13-setup.exe? If I am not mistaken, this build should already have a workaround for the UDTInfo issue. Unfortunately, it's not an official build; but if you let us know whether it works or not, we will be able to release a new version of DQA with this issue fixed early next year. -

Hello Swetha,
Sorry about that - we will have a new build with the issue resolved available in early January. Since this is probably too late for you, please ask your DB administrator to give you SELECT permission on table DBC.UDTInfo (grant select on DBC.UDTInfo to {username}). That should be enough to get the things working even in 7.0.3. -

Hello Swetha,
We are in the final phase of releasing DQ Analyzer 7.0.4, which should include the fix for the problem. We have placed an early build at http://files.ataccama.com.s3.amazonaws.com/downloads/DQAnalyzer/dqanalyzer-7.0.4.rc4-2012-01-17-setup.exe - could you please check if it solves the issue you are experiencing?
Thanks a lot! -

Hello Pavel,
I tested the DQ Analyzer 7.0.4. Looks like my issue partially solved.
I can create profile when I choose table from the File Explorer.
But when I choose command Create Profile from menu I cannot expand database name to the table level and choose the table. -

Hello Swetha,
Thanks for trying the new build and all the bug report. Good to hear that the permission issue is resolved, we will now fix the problem in table selection page in the Create Profile dialog and, hopefully, we are done. We will let you know once new build is available - I think we will have it ready later this week.
Once again, thank you for the feedback. -

Hi Swetha,
A new build is available at http://files.ataccama.com.s3.amazonaws.com/downloads/DQAnalyzer/dqanalyzer-7.0.4.rc5-2012-01-20-setup.exe. The problem you reported the last time was fixed, hopefully it will work fine now. Let us know if you come across any other issue.
Thanks a lot! -
