I have been having problems trying to determine what needs to go into "create new database connection" window for the DQ Analyzer
For an Oracle 11g database. We have a Microsoft Access front end that we use ODBC to connect to.
Name: the server name or database name? (I've tried both to no luck.)
Driver Name: driver on client or server?
URL String:???

Hello
Thank you for your question.
First of all, it seems that you are using DQ analyzer 6. There is new version 7 which you can download at www.ataccama.com.
I recommend using version 7, because it features various performance and UI upgrades as well as improved database connection dialog.
To Your question:
It looks like you have ODBC connection already configured in your windows system. DQ analyzer can actually use this ODBC connection too. In connection dialog, choose Driver name "ODBC" and in the url string type your predefined ODBC connection name. Then fill user name and password fields accordingly (some odbc connections don't require these fields). Name from the "name" field will be used inside DQA as database identifier, sou you can type any name you want in there.
You can find your ODBC connection name in windows "ODBC Data Source Administrator" application (start>control panel>odbc). -
